Popular Malayalam film director Diphan passed away at a private hospital in Kochi on March 13. The 47-year-old was ailing from liver cirrhosis and kidney failure and was undergoing treatment for some time.
The cremation held in Thiruvananthapuram. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Many celebrities and people from all corners are expressing grief at his untimely death. Prithviraj took it to social media to share his grief.

Diphan began his career as an independent filmmaker in 2003 with The King Maker: Leader. Then in 2009, he directed Puthiya Mukham starring Prithviraj which turned out to be a milestone in the latter’s film career.
Diphan directed seven films including Hero, Gangs of Vadakkumnathan and the last being Dophin Bar in 2014. He was working on Sathya which has Jayaram and Roma in the lead roles. The film is in its post-production stage.
